The Venue

Where is Living Well Event Center located?

We're nestled in the beautiful Los Gatos mountains between San Jose and Santa Cruz, surrounded by majestic redwoods with sweeping views overlooking Monterey Bay. Our address is 22975 Santa Cruz Highway, Los Gatos, CA 95033.

We're conveniently located just about 20 minutes from San Jose Mineta International Airport and 20 minutes from the beaches of Santa Cruz — a serene mountain retreat that's still close to hotels, restaurants, and coastal attractions.

How many guests can you accommodate?

We can comfortably accommodate up to 100 guests. Our 2,000 sq ft lighted redwood deck is the heart of the event space, with the full 4-acre property offering additional space for ceremonies, cocktail hours, and exploration of the orchard, waterfall, and gardens.

What makes Living Well different from other venues?

Our guests describe us as a hidden gem. Unlike a banquet hall or hotel ballroom, Living Well is a private estate — the entire property is yours for the day. You get panoramic Monterey Bay views, towering redwoods, a 100-foot water feature and waterfall, a fruit orchard and garden, a fire pit, and an intimate atmosphere where every detail feels personal. Greg and Patty are on-site the entire time, not a rotating event coordinator. You dine under the trees and dance under the stars — there's simply nowhere else like it.

Is the venue pet-friendly?

Absolutely! We welcome four-legged family members. This is your day, and we want everyone who matters to you to be part of it.

Pricing & Booking

What is the venue rental price?

The venue rental fee is $7,900 per day for weddings and full-day events, which includes exclusive access from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM and event liability insurance. Corporate retreat pricing starts from $2,500 for weekday bookings. Please reach out for a personalized quote based on your event date and needs.

What is the payment schedule?

Payments are split into four installments:

• $2,000 non-refundable deposit due upon signing your agreement (this reserves your date)
• $2,500 due 90 days after signing
• $2,500 due 90 days before your event
• Final balance of $900 (plus any add-ons) due 15 days before the event

Is the deposit refundable?

The initial $2,000 deposit is non-refundable, as it reserves your event date exclusively for you and takes that date off the market for other inquiries.

How do I check availability and reserve my date?

Fill out our inquiry form and we'll confirm availability for your date quickly. Your date is officially reserved once your signed agreement and initial deposit are received. You're also welcome to schedule a tour to see the property in person before committing.

What's Included

What is included with the venue rental?

Your rental includes exclusive access to the full property from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, plus:

• Lighted outdoor 2,000 sq ft redwood deck
• Separate ceremony space
• Bridal party preparation area
• Food preparation area
• On-site parking
• Multiple planning visits

Event liability insurance — included at no extra charge

Is event insurance included?

Yes — event liability insurance is included with your venue rental at no additional charge. This is a real differentiator from most venues, where insurance is an out-of-pocket expense couples or corporate planners have to arrange separately. At Living Well, it's already handled. You can focus entirely on enjoying your event.

Do you provide tables and chairs?

Yes, we offer optional rental packages:

Ceremony Chairs — $3 per chair (white padded resin)
Dining Sets — $50 per set, includes table, linen tablecloth, and up to 8 white padded chairs
Extra Tables — $14 each with linen

Can Greg or Patty officiate our wedding ceremony?

Yes! Both Greg and Patty are ordained officiants and would be honored to conduct your ceremony for $300. This includes an in-person, phone, or Zoom meeting, help writing your vows, and assistance creating your ceremony program. They create heartfelt, personalized ceremonies that reflect your unique story.

Are rehearsals included?

Yes — ceremony rehearsals and vendor walkthroughs are included as part of your booking at no extra charge. We also offer additional planning visits throughout your planning process.

Vendors & Catering

Do you provide catering?

We don't offer in-house catering, but you're welcome to choose any caterer or food service you prefer. We have a food preparation area on-site and can recommend trusted caterers who know the venue well.

Can we bring our own vendors?

Yes — you're welcome to use any vendors you prefer for catering, photography, florals, entertainment, and more. We can also provide recommendations for trusted vendors who have worked successfully at our venue and know the space well.

Music & Sound

Is outdoor music allowed?

Yes, outdoor music is allowed. Santa Cruz County requires sound levels remain under 70 decibels. We provide on-site decibel meters so your DJ or musicians can easily monitor levels. If your vision involves very high-volume nightclub-style music, our intimate mountain setting may not be the best fit — but most events work beautifully within these guidelines.

Do you provide sound equipment?

Yes — we offer complimentary use of our high-end Bose speaker system at no additional charge. We also provide on-site decibel meters so DJs and music coordinators can monitor sound levels easily.

Can we have a DJ or live music?

Yes! DJs and live musicians are welcome, as long as volume stays within county limits. We're happy to coordinate directly with your DJ or musicians regarding our venue's sound requirements.

Logistics

Is parking available?

Yes — we have ample free on-site parking for all your guests, right on the property. No street parking or shuttle logistics needed.

Can we tour the venue before booking?

Absolutely — we'd love to show you around. Schedule a private tour through our inquiry form and Greg or Patty will walk you through every inch of the property. We also offer additional planning visits after booking.

What types of events do you host?

We host weddings and elopements, engagement parties, baby and bridal showers, birthday celebrations, memorials and celebrations of life, corporate events and retreats, team offsites, wellness events, workshops and trainings, and private celebrations. If you're marking something meaningful, this is your place.
